'Good news' paper to highlight local news and events

Richmond Suburban News will launch its sixth publication as the first issue of The King William Local hits news racks on Wednesday, July 3. The monthly community newspaper joins RSN's other publications, The Mechanicsville Local, The Goochland Gazette, Midlothian Exchange, Powhatan Today and Cumberland Today.

"It is with great pleasure that we, the management team and employees of RSN, accept the welcome mat so many in King William have graciously placed out for us," said Joy Monopoli, publisher for Richmond Suburban News.

The King William Local will publish the first Wednesday of each month and it will be available free of charge in racks at locations throughout the county.

The new newspaper will be the source for King William County residents to discover information about upcoming events, share the good news from schools, churches, nonprofits and civic organizations, and learn about the people and places that make the county special.

"From the moment we started approaching county and business leaders, the response has been overwhelming," said RSN Managing Editor Melody Kinser. "Some may call us 'the good news' newspaper. We're fine with that description, because we know that the news and events taking place in schools, churches, civic and social organizations and communities are what matter most."

The Local encourages participation from the community on its Facebook page, www.facebook.com/KingWilliamLocal, and invites news and photos submissions from readers to Editor Kinser at (804) 746-1235, ext. 22, or mkinser@mechlocal.com and Regional Reporter Jodi Deal at (804) 746-1235, ext. 29, or jdeal@mechlocal.com.
