Use vanity to keep realtors in your classified section

Posted

In an effort to keep real estate advertising in the newspaper, the Wheeling (W.Va.) Intelligencer/News-Register rolled out in 2008 a way for individual realtors to buy a headshot as a way to keep themselves prominently in the market.

The key realtors bought into the program and have stayed with the paper ever since.

The charge for the headshot ads is minimal – a photo and six lines for $39 for 30 days.

Bill Nutting, vice president of Ogden Newspapers says: "The value of keeping these realtors – their faces and their ads – in the paper was invaluable in these last years when real estate advertising has moved out of a lot of papers."
