Olsson named publisher of The Lima News

Doug Olsson, a longtime news executive, has been named publisher/general manager of The Lima (Ohio) News.

Olsson, 55, comes to The Lima News from the Times Leader in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., where he held a similar position since June. The Times Leader and The Lima News are both owned by Civitas Media.

"Doug has a deep background in print and digital media that will enhance The Lima News' position as the information source for readers and advertisers," said Ralph Martin, chief executive officer for Civitas.

Olsson succeeds Pamela Stricker, who has been named publisher of niche publications for Civitas. Stricker will maintain an office at The Lima News, where she'll handle her corporate duties.
