SNPA stands out among industry associations for unique networking opportunities, its focus on problem-solving, aggregation of information, dissemination of best practices, affordable and effective technology-enhanced training and its leadership in championing the newspaper industry.
SNPA's mission is to be the most valuable personal network for publishers to find and exchange ideas, solve problems and develop their businesses.
SNPA's Board of Directors includes four officers, one representative from each Southeastern state, and four at-large delegates.
The SNPA Foundation
The SNPA Foundation provides professional development programs for newspaper employees. The Foundation's newest venture – Online Media Campus – provides high-quality, low-cost web-based programs that help media professionals develop new job skills without leaving their offices. More than 40 state and regional associations partner with the SNPA Foundation to promote these web-based programs.
SNPA Foundation programs are supported by an endowment fund. Contributors include newspapers throughout the South, newspaper companies throughout the country, newspaper industry suppliers and numerous individuals.
The SNPA Foundation is led by a nine-member Board of Trustees.
Get involved: Join a committee
The work of SNPA is directed by its standing committees. Committees monitor industry trends and legal issues, membership retention and recruitment, program planning, networking opportunities and communications.
All SNPA members are invited to participate in committee activities. Most meet just once or twice each year, via conference call. The work is not taxing and the rewards can be tremendous. Committee members often remark that they develop new networks of collaborators.
