Greg Watson joins SNPA staff as chief marketing officer
Greg Watson, who owned a strategic marketing consulting firm for the past five years and formerly worked with Gannett Co. Inc., has joined the SNPA staff. Watson will serve as chief marketing officer and assistant executive director, with responsibility for planning and executing strategies that promote SNPA's brand and programs. He also will address the needs of SNPA's different constituencies, champion the newspaper industry, work to grow membership and member engagement, and spotlight the value of SNPA's programs and services.
SNPA Executive Director Edward VanHorn said: "SNPA is fortunate that Greg Watson is on its team. Greg brings research and marketing skills that will help SNPA stay in front of industry trends and fine-tune its understanding of its members' needs."
Watson said, "It's an honor to be joining the team at SNPA. SNPA is obviously a great organization that is doing amazing work for the newspaper industry. I look forward to being a part of it and working with everyone at SNPA and all its members."
Watson is an accomplished executive with proven success in analyzing and converting market opportunities within a variety of structures and environments. He is a strategic leader with dynamic creative and analytical skills.
While at Gannett, Watson was recognized as a five-time winner of the Chairman's Award for excellence in the marketing discipline and was tapped to lead a number of taskforce and special initiatives, including product launches, strategic planning and marketing programs for individual markets and the company as a whole.
