Bill Evans is named as The Paducah Sun's next publisher

The Paxton Media Group has announced that WPSD-TV vice president and general manager Bill Evans has been named as the new publisher of The Paducah (Ky.) Sun.

Evans was named to succeed Jim Paxton, who retired after 32 years at the western Kentucky newspaper.

Paxton Media Group owns both the station and the newspaper and said Evans would continue in his role at the station, in addition to his new role as publisher.

Richard Paxton, who is president of West Kentucky Media for Paxton Media Group, says Evans is willing to explore new ideas and new ways of delivering news and information to the readers of The Paducah Sun, viewers of WPSD-TV, and users of digital and print platforms provided by both entities.
