Aiken Standard publishing free wedding, engagement announcements in 2017

For the first time, the Aiken (S.C.) Standard is offering free publication of wedding, engagement and anniversary announcements in every Sunday edition at no charge, all year long in celebration of the paper's own 150th anniversary in 2017.

First published in 1867, the newspaper wants to share the joy of reaching its 150th year in business with the community, and what better way than celebrating local couple's milestones, as well?

"Engagements, weddings and anniversaries tell the personal stories of our community. They are fun to read, and belong in the Aiken Standard as an important part of the fabric of our shared history," said Aiken Standard Publisher Rhonda Overbey.

Announcements will be published at no charge every Sunday in the Living on the Go section of the paper through the yearlong sponsorship of The Furniture Connection on East Pine Log Road in Aiken.
