A newspaper veteran with 40 years of advertising and management experience is the Victoria (Texas) Advocate's new director of sales.

George Coleman comes to the Advocate from the Sandusky Newspaper Group, where he served as publisher of the Lebanon (Tenn.) Democrat and related publications. He also served as major accounts manager for the group's Tennessee newspapers.

In his new role, Coleman also will serve as major accounts director for M. Roberts Media's newspapers in Texas. M. Roberts Media is the parent company of the family-owned Advocate.

"George comes with a rich history of success in his field and a deep knowledge of national advertising as well as local client engagement," said Justin Wilcox, the chief revenue officer for M. Roberts Media.
