Marisa Kollias joins tronc as VP, corporate communications

tronc, Inc. has appointed Marisa Kollias as vice president of corporate  communications. Kollias will be based in Chicago and report directly to tronc CEO, Justin Dearborn.

In her role, Kollias will serve as the company's lead spokesperson, driving reputation and brand awareness with consumers, advertisers and the media, as well as oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of all external strategic communications for tronc.

With over 15 years of strategic communications and public relations experience, Kollias has executed successful communications campaigns in the healthcare, transportation, education and media industries. She began her career in public affairs, previously serving as a communications director for public-sector executives at both Cook County Hospital and the State of Illinois' Department of Transportation.

In addition, Kollias brings a strong journalism background, having worked in some of Chicago's top newsrooms as a writer, and as a former television reporter in other markets. 

"Marisa is a skilled communications pro who brings not only a wealth of experience, but also a great understanding of the media industry," said tronc CEO Justin Dearborn. "Her expertise will be a great asset and I am thrilled to welcome her to our team."
