Richard Tamborrino named publisher in Key West, Fla.

Cooke Communications - Florida LLC has announced the hiring of Richard Tamborrino to the position of publisher of The Key West Citizen and The Florida Keys Free Press.

Tamborrino will be responsible for overseeing the entire newspaper operation for Cooke in the Florida Keys. He will oversee the news department, handle overall operations duties and pay particular emphasis to the advertising sales and development growth in Monroe County for The Citizen and Free Press newspapers, as well as KeysNews.com.

Tamborrino has a rich newspaper background in Florida, having served for 33 years in multiple sales management roles at the Orlando Sentinel and at The Miami Herald, and as publisher of The Keynoter and The Reporter community papers in the Florida Keys.

Tamborrino is a board member of the United Way of the Florida Keys, as well as the Key West Chamber's Economic Affairs Committee. He graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Connecticut.
