Sharon Sorg, former publisher of The Meadville (Penn.) Tribune, has been appointed to rejoin the paper in that role again, effective immediately.

She succeeds Jim Galantis, who has served as publisher for the last six years.

Sorg will continue as publisher of the Sharon Herald, the New Castle News and the Allied News in Grove City in line with a management reorganization of the papers, which are owned by Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc.

"We're delighted to have Sharon Sorg's wealth of newspaper experience expanded to include the Meadville Tribune," said Robin L. Quillon, CNHI's group publisher for Pennsylvania and Maryland. "Her knowledge of the market will make this transition seamless."

Sorg served as publisher of the Tribune from 2007 to October of 2011, when she left to become publisher of the Sharon Herald. She expanded her publisher duties to the New Castle News and the Allied News in May of 2013. She also oversees CNHI's West Penn Printing plant in New Castle.

"I am thrilled to again be engaged with the staff, the advertisers and the community served by the Tribune," said Sorg. "The paper has an incredible team of professionals who make a difference in the community every day."

Sorg said she plans to become active in Meadville and Crawford County civic and other organizations in keeping with the Tribune's efforts to provide print and online content that readers find relevant and useful.
