Charles Hill Morris Jr. of Swartz-Morris Media, the parent company of the Forsyth County News, has announced Stephanie Woody's appointment as the new publisher of the paper in Cumming, Ga.

Woody, a Forsyth County native and North Forsyth High School graduate, was most recently the publisher at the Dawson County News, sister-paper of the FCN and also owned by Swartz-Morris. She replaces Vince Johnson, who resigned from his role as publisher to accept another job opportunity in local media in the Southeast.

"I am very excited to take on this role in my hometown," Woody said. "I truly believe there is no better place to live than Forsyth County. I look forward to the opportunity to get involved in this community, as well as getting to know our readers.
