The Post and Courier names three to key leadership posts

Three veteran newspaper leaders have been named to key Post and Courier leadership posts.

The Post and Courier is South Carolina's largest newspaper. It is owned by Charleston-based Evening Post Industries.

"We conducted a nationwide search for these positions," said P.J. Browning, publisher of The Post and Courier. "I couldn't be more pleased that we found leaders of this caliber to push our newspaper group into the future. I look forward to great things to come."

Scott Embry has been named director of advertising for The Post and Courier. Embry comes to Charleston from Fayetteville, N.C., where as director of advertising he built and managed a team responsible for all sales and marketing efforts for Fayetteville Publishing Co.

In Fayetteville, Embry developed strategic initiatives that resulted in impressive local account and revenue growth. Overall, he has 15 years of media sales and management experience with stops in Burlington, N.C., Seymour, Ind., and New Bern, N.C.

Chris Zoeller has been named director of strategic marketing, where she is responsible for development and implementation of marketing and innovation strategies to support and enhance the success of The Post and Courier.

Zoeller started her career with Evening Post Industries in June 2005 at The Eagle in College Station, Texas, as assistant advertising director. Zoeller also served as regional advertising and marketing director for Summerville Communications before her promotion to The Post and Courier. She began her newspaper career with Freedom Communications at the Odessa American.

John Posluszny has been named president of shared services and audience development for Evening Post Publishing Newspaper Group, including The Post and Courier.

Posluszny has 25 years of management experience. Previously, he was circulation director for Ogden Newspapers, where he was responsible for the management of three daily newspapers and a host of other products distributed throughout Ohio and West Virginia. Prior to Ogden, he served 12 years as circulation supervisor for Daily Gazette Newspaper Inc., in Schenectady, N.Y.
