Tom Silvestri to moderate town hall meeting in Sarasota
A new feature at this year's News Industry Summit will be a moderated session where introductions are made and industry issues are addressed. This Monday morning session on Oct. 14 will unleash the distinctive personal interaction that is synonymous with SNPA to create a unique and not-to-be-missed problem-solving, idea-sharing session.
Tom Silvestri, president and publisher of the Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch, will moderate the session.
Silvestri, who serves as president-elect of SNPA, says: "SNPA is all about networking with friends and securing best practices from achievers. So, adding a Town Hall to the SNPA Convention takes the best of the many hallways conversations and mixes them with the important issues of the day. In Sarasota, we want to hear what's working well, what's befuddling to publishers and a solid dose of inspiration to ensure the convention was worth the trip."
The Town Hall session will include recognition of new SNPA members attending the convention for the first time and a look at what's working well at member newspapers, our industry and at SNPA. Attendees also will address what's keeping them up at night and thoughts to chew on for the rest of the convention. A prize will be awarded for the best thoughts shared, as voted by the crowd.
