Michael Smith joins Aiken Standard newsroom as executive editor

Michael Smith, formerly with the Carolina Forest Chronicle, has joined the Aiken (S.C.) Standard newsroom as the new executive editor.

Smith joined the newsroom in March, replacing Tim O'Briant, who left to become general manager and executive editor of The Brunswick (Ga.) News in February.

Smith comes to Aiken from the Myrtle Beach area, working with Waccamaw Publishers, which included stints at the Loris Scene and at the Carolina Forest Chronicle for the past 13 years.  Read more from The Aiken Standard
