Halifax Media Group closes sale of Sebring News-Sun

Halifax Media has sold the Sebring (Fla.) News-Sun to Sun Coast Media Group, Inc. based in Port Charlotte, Fla. Halifax Media purchased the Sebring News-Sun in September 2013 from HarborPoint Media as part of an acquisition that also included the Leesburg Daily Commercial and the Clermont South Lake Press.

"The Sebring News-Sun and their excellent employees are a great match for the Sun Coast Media Group. Sun Coast Media has newspapers and publications near Sebring and throughout the region, including Port Charlotte and Venice, so Sebring is an excellent addition to their group," said Michael Redding, CEO of Halifax Media Group. "The Dunn-Rankins have published newspapers in the area for many years and are well respected. They will continue to invest and grow the business.
