Roundtables and Walls Forum provide valuable exchange of ideas
Within the past week, SNPA members gathered in Macon, Ga., Columbia, S.C., and Madison, Ga., to exchange ideas and talk about issues of concern.
If you didn't take part in one of these Publisher Roundtables or the Carmage Walls Leadership Forum, be sure to register the next time around. These programs provide valuable networking and you'll go home with a stack of great new ideas.
The Carmage Walls Leadership Forum is specifically geared toward small-circulation newspapers, with the agenda being completely set by the publishers who register to attend. Special thanks to Dolph Tillotson of Southern Newspapers, who moderated the discussion!
The GREAT IDEAS section of the SNPA website will be featuring some of the ideas shared at these meetings over the coming weeks. Among the ideas featured this week on the website is a look at East Atlanta Entertainment, which is sent by email to about 25,000 residents of Newton County every Thursday by The Covington News.
Upcoming Publisher Roundtables include:
Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi Roundtable for Publishers - Thursday, Nov. 7
- This program will run from 9 a.m. - Noon at the Ameristar Casino, in Vicksburg, Miss. It is being held in conjunction with the Arkansas-Louisiana-Mississippi Circulation Conference that afternoon.
Tennessee Publishers - Friday, Nov. 8
- Join us from 10:45 a.m. until 3 p.m. (Central), at the offices of The Tennessean (second floor conference room) in Nashville.
- Advance registration is required. To register, email Greg Sherrill, executive director of TPA, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The goal at each of these programs is for participants to leave with dozens of new ideas they can use at their newspapers. Participants are asked to bring about 30 copies of materials they wish to share.
In addition, three idea-sharing symposiums are scheduled for circulation executives. (learn more)
