The board of directors of Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc., has appointed Jennifer R. Pustaver chief financial officer of the media company, effective Sept. 1.

Pustaver has served as CNHI's senior vice president of finance for the past three years. She has been with the company for nearly 16 years in various financial executive positions.

"I'm delighted Jennifer is joining our senior management team," said Donna Barrett, CNHI's president and chief executive officer. "She has proven to be highly effective in a range of financial roles in the company. Her promotion ensures a smooth transition in the financial affairs of the company."

Pustaver will succeed Lynn Pearson, who has been CNHI's longtime chief financial officer. She is stepping down at the end of August to return to her hometown of Louisville, Ky.

Pustaver said she's excited about her new responsibilities at a time the newspaper industry is undergoing reinvigoration. "I've seen many effective changes over the years," she said. "It is a privilege to be a part of that process."

A native of Charleston, S.C., Pustaver is a graduate of Clemson University. She began her finance career with the First Union National Bank in Greenville, S.C., and later served in accounting positions with Multimedia, Inc., and Gannett Company before joining CNHI in 1999.
