Second Street introduces Promotions University

Second Street has announced the launch of a new interactive, on-demand promotions training and certification program. Promotions University allows media professionals to become certified experts in planning, selling and promoting their online promotions programs.

"The courses in Promotions University are filled with actionable takeaways that are helping us drive digital revenue and develop promotions plans for 2015," said Jamie Kinnaird, manager of contests and promotions, BH Media. "We're requiring our digital managers to complete these courses."

Since launching to partners last month, hundreds of certifications have been earned from media professionals across North America. Available courses include contest sales planning and sales training, ecommerce sales training and a variety of admin courses, with several more courses launching before the end of the year. Media companies that have completed their Promotions University courses are finding ways to organize their teams and drive more results for their advertisers.

"Training is such a crucial part of the success of a sales team. According to Borrell Associates, sales managers find that 92 percent of their staff needs more digital training," said Matt Coen, president and co-founder, Second Street. "With a huge shift in dollars to promotions, training teams on how to take full advantage of this opportunity can provide a significant impact to media companies."

Courses are designed with the working professional in mind and can typically be completed in under two hours. Courses can be started and paused at anytime, so the learner can take them at their own pace. Each course is made up of several modules, and each module has a quiz associated with it that must be passed in order to earn certification.
