Presteligence introduces web portal for commercial jobs

Now available to any publishing entity wishing to create efficiencies for commercial production jobs

Presteligence has designed a web portal for newspapers' commercial clients to upload pages for production.

NewsXtreme Portal allows for automation and creates efficiencies within production and prepress departments while drastically streamlining the process of uploading pages for commercial customers.

When a commercial job is contracted, the customer receives an e-mail containing the job information and link to the portal where they can upload their PDFs.  Files are checked and automatically corrected for common problems such as wrong color space, improper knockout settings and black text made up of four colors.  Errored files are relayed back to the customer with a detailed report for fixing.  Customers can visually see a confirmation message of a successful file upload via the portal, increasing their confidence in file transfers compared to FTP.   In addition, customers are able to preview the pages and accept or reject them.

NewsXtreme Portal manages the front-end workflow while talking to NewsXtreme Workflow behind the scenes.  Once customers preview and accept their pages, a schedule is automatically created in NewsXtreme.

Having been deployed by all of Gannett as part of the production workflow consolidation project, NewsXtreme Portal is now available to any publishing entity wishing to create efficiencies for commercial production jobs. The system can also integrate with other third-party workflow systems.
