Should small daily newspapers have put the Orlando shooting on 1A?

There's an interesting debate for smaller daily newspapers around running national stories like the Orlando massacre on the front page.  Some say that as part of a hyper-local mission, putting any wire on the front page for a small daily newspaper, even when it's major news like the Orlando shooting or the election of a new president, is a bad idea.

David Arkin of GateHouse says: "Lots of considerations go into front page story placement and whether wire is appropriate for that day. But some days, I think the news is so big that the wire content is more locally relevant than an event story for a daily newspaper."
