Pilot newsroom to shrink by almost one-quarter

The Virginian-Pilot's newsroom (Norfolk, Va.) will be cut by nearly one-quarter by the end of the year. With layoffs and attrition, the size of the news staff will drop to about 105 from 137 in the summer, Editor Denis Finley said.
