Cox Media Group has named Tim Burke as multi-market vice president of content and Eric Myers as multi-market vice president of sales, effective immediately.

Burke, who currently serves as publisher of The Palm Beach Post and Palm Beach Daily News, will oversee content execution, strategy and business goals for the newspaper brands' products and platforms. With this leadership change, he will continue overseeing Post operations during a transition period. Myers, who serves as vice president of advertising sales for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, will lead print and digital strategy, and oversight for all CMG Newspaper Sales as well as CMG Ohio, the company's converged TV, newspaper and radio market.

"Tim and Eric are highly experienced leaders with proven track records," said Executive Vice President Mike Joseph. "They understand what it takes to compete – and win – in all our local markets. I'm excited they are joining our leadership team to help CMG achieve our long-range goals."

Multi-market VPs of content and sales, along with multi-market VP of Audience Mark Medici, will collaborate to help CMG Newspapers execute long-term goals more aggressively and work to ensure that CMG serves as the most essential local media resource in Atlanta, Austin, Dayton, Ohio, and West Palm Beach, Fla.

"It's a formula that has helped our trusted brands identity and socialize big news stories that resonate with a wide audience," Joseph said. "Our long-term strategy is designed to ensure that CMG Newspapers carve a long, successful future. We have a strong team in place to execute on our plan. "

Burke's 23-year Cox career includes working as executive editor and vice president of audience development for The Palm Beach Post. Prior to that, he served as the Post's vice president for digital media, deputy managing editor, assistant managing editor for digital and sports, and executive sports editor.

"I am excited to work with incredibly talented colleagues across all of our newsrooms, and all of our platforms," Burke said. "They have built a great foundation – and momentum – for our future. Through digital innovation and investigative journalism, we have more ways than ever to deliver content that matters to our local markets."

Myers joined The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 2010, overseeing all AJC advertising sales efforts, as well as Mundo Hispanico and Kudzu properties. He also led national/major retail sales for all for CMG newspaper properties.

"The combination of CMG's strong local brands and industry-leading advertising talent place us in an enviable position," Myers said. "Our team is ready to tackle opportunities that are opening up in this constantly evolving advertising world."
