Palestine Herald-Press names new publisher

Jake Mienk has been appointed publisher and advertising director of the Palestine (Texas) Herald-Press.  Mienk was promoted from regional advertising manager of the Herald-Press and its sister papers, the Jacksonville Daily Progress and Athens Daily Review.

"We have a great team at the Palestine Herald-Press and I am looking forward to providing an exceptional newspaper experience for our readers, our advertisers and our community," said Mienk.

A 10-year veteran of the newspaper industry, Mienk began his career as a senior account executive for the Tyler (Texas) Morning Telegraph in 2005.

"Jake is a talented newspaper executive, and I am confident that he will do an outstanding job in his new role," said Steve McPhaul, executive vice president and chief operating officer for CNHI. "His leadership will be a great asset to the newspaper and the Palestine community."

A native of Gladwin, Mich., Mienk is a graduate of Northwood University in Midland, Mich.  He and his wife, Teena, have two sons.
