MediaSpan's CirculationPro® topped over 100 installations in 2013, and the company expects that pace will continue well into 2014.

"Our success this year shows that CirculationPro can handle a multitude of different sizes and sites, from the small weeklies to the large dailies, and we're seeing a huge migration to the software-as-a-service [SaaS] model," said Scott Bray, CirculationPro product manager for MediaSpan. "Our dedicated development, training and technical support professionals not only understand CirculationPro, but they understand the needs of circulation departments, and having that knowledge is paramount as we continue to gain momentum in the market."

Some of the key CirculationPro installations, all of which use the SaaS model, include:

  • Civitas Media (Davidson, N.C.) encompasses hundreds of publications, and consolidated multiple CirculationPro and other third-party circulation systems into a single CirculationPro SaaS system. Civitas publishes 35 daily, 28 weekend editions and 63 weekly publications for a combined circulation of over 1.6 million, with over 875,000 home-delivered subscriptions, all managed by CirculationPro.
  • MaineToday Media (Portland, Maine) is the largest media company in Maine, and publishes The Portland Press Herald, Maine Sunday Telegram, Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel. MaineToday Media also delivers nine outside publications within its delivery areas (Boston Globe, Financial Times, Investors Business Daily, New York Times, TV Weekly, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Weekend Wall Street Journal and Bangor Daily News), all hosted in a single SaaS CirculationPro database, which has saved countless hours, and provided substantial cost-savings as a result.
  • The Albuquerque Journal (Albuquerque, N.M.) is the largest newspaper in New Mexico with a daily circulation of over 96,000. The paper deployed a single SaaS CirculationPro database to manage all of its publications in 2013, and has seen significant cost and operational efficiencies as a result.
  • Acadie Nouvelle (Caraquet, NB Canada) leverages CirculationPro's multi-lingual interface to manage its French language newspaper with a daily circulation of over 20,000 home-delivered copies. Located in a primarily francophone region, it was important for Acadie Nouvelle to choose a solution that could not only manage its business needs effectively but that also was localized into Canadian French.
