Lovett named Clarion-Ledger interim publisher

Genia Lovett, a longtime Gannett executive, has taken the reins of The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss., as interim president and publisher.

Gannett East Group President Michael Kane made the announcement, welcoming Lovett to Jackson.

"Genia's deep experience will provide beneficial insights to all of our customers and employees in Jackson. She brings a passion and determination in everything she does," Kane said.

Lovett has always been an active member of the communities in which she lives.

In addition to leading The Clarion-Ledger, Lovett will serve as a regional president for Gannett East Group with responsibilities for Hattiesburg, Miss., and Montgomery, Ala.
