It's all about relationships
The 2013 News Industry Summit offers publishers and other key executives from SNPA member newspapers the opportunity to take their connection with each other to the next level.
When asked recently what they value most about SNPA, members of the SNPA and SNPA Foundation boards talked about relationships.
Connections made in the hallways, in sessions and over dinner between members result in professional relationships that make a difference.
"As a publisher, I need these conversations with other publishers," one board member commented. There's a certain trust and confidence that exists among SNPA friends that raises the value of conferences – such as the News Industry Summit – beyond that which comes out of the sessions themselves.
The 2013 Summit, to be held Oct. 13-15 in Sarasota, has a strong program that will address market concerns of publishers from both large and small newspapers. But, it's the relationships that will be formed at meetings like this that allow them to get the most from their SNPA membership.
If you have not attended the News Industry Summit in past years, you are missing an important aspect of your membership – something that can only be experienced in person.
Members are encouraged to make their conference plans as soon as possible.
If you have not made your hotel reservation yet, you need to do that right away. Rooms are almost sold out. Also, Sept. 14 is the deadline to register with SNPA before conference fees go up.
