Howard Hoffman, SNPA's member services director, will step down later this month after the Mega-Conference in Austin.

Hoffman started work with SNPA in September 2014, when he was hired to do freelance projects.  A few months later, he was hired to a staff position, the first addition to the SNPA staff since 2007.

"This final chapter at SNPA has allowed me to witness firsthand the passion and drive that the SNPA staff demonstrate on a daily basis, and I thank them for allowing me to play a very small part in all this," Hoffman said. "Their laser-focus and boundless energy to respond to the ever-changing nature of the industry cannot be understated."

Hoffman is a familiar face in the newspaper industry.  Before joining SNPA, he spent 25 years working for PARADE, Publishing Group of America and USA Weekend. Prior to that, he had an extensive career in advertising, marketing, and radio and television.

"My newspaper career began when I was 12 years old delivering The Pittsburgh Press in my hometown," said Hoffman. "I have now been lucky to bookend that modest start as a member of this well-respected organization for the past two and a half years."

As to what the future will hold, Hoffman says that the only certainty is that he intends to stay active and never use the word "retire."  He plans to find new ways to explore his interests and passions, which include travel, working with charitable organizations and support of his local high school basketball program.
