Delinda Fogel, publisher of The St. Augustine Record and staugustine.com has been promoted to the position of CFO for Morris Publishing Group.  The announcement was made by William S. Morris IV, president and CEO of Morris Communications Co.

"We are delighted to have Delinda joining our corporate staff, and I'm certain she'll make a significant contribution to the company," said Morris.

Fogel will report to Derek May, president of Morris Publishing Group. The Record will begin immediately a national search for a new publisher.

"Delinda's background in media finance, as well as her experience in running a local media operation, makes her a wonderful choice for this role," said May.  "I am proud that we have so many outstanding people within our company that we can promote to different roles as we evolve."

Fogel, a 25-year veteran of the media industry, spent 13 years with Gannett Co., Inc. before joining Morris.  During her tenure with Gannett, she held several controller positions and in 2002 took over the role of president and publisher of The News-Star in Monroe, La. In 2004 Fogel joined Morris as division controller and later CFO of the Savannah Morning News.  Fogel became vice president of finance and strategic planning in 2008 at The Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, Fla.  Since 2013, Fogel has served as publisher of The St. Augustine Record in St. Augustine, Fla.

"St. Augustine is a special place for me and my family.  I've made some great friends here that I will miss dearly," said Fogel.  "The CFO position at MPG is an exciting opportunity for me to leverage the operations knowledge I've gained in St. Augustine with my financial background to help the company achieve its strategic and financial goals."

Fogel holds a BBA in accounting from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.  She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Information Technology Professional and holds a Chartered Global Management Accountant certification.   Fogel is an active member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and the Florida Institute of CPAs.
