David Eldridge has been named publisher of the Richmond (Ky.) Register.

A 35-year veteran of the newspaper industry, Eldridge was most recently the publisher of the Perry County News in Tell City, Ind., and a regional manager for Landmark Community Newspapers, Inc.

Eldridge has held senior management positions at the Winchester Sun, the Jessamine (Nicholasville) Journal and the Henry County (Eminence) Local.

"We are fortunate to have someone of David's ability to take the reins in Richmond," said Steve McPhaul, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc. "He has close ties to the area, and I am confident he will do a great job. His passion and commitment will be a true asset for the readers and advertisers of The Register."

"I am very happy to become a part of The Register and the Madison County community," Eldridge said. "The Register has always been a top-notch newspaper, and I look forward to working closely with the staff to continue its important role in the community."
