Kevin Drake returns to Spartanburg as publisher

Former Spartanburg (S.C.) Herald-Journal Publisher Kevin Drake is returning to Spartanburg to once again direct the newspaper, GoUpstate.com and Spartanburg Magazine.
Drake served as publisher of the Herald-Journal from 2012 to 2014, when he moved to Florida to direct the Lakeland Ledger Media Group. The Herald-Journal and the Ledger are owned by GateHouse Media.
Drake said he enjoyed his time in Florida and the success of the Ledger, but he has longed to return to the Upstate. "I am delighted to be back home in the Carolinas, a place I love and have missed," he said.
