Motivating and communicating

Key leadership techniques that work

Posted
  1. Be sure you understand your role as a leader:  Inspire employees by creating a vision.
  2. Promote your values:  Let employees know that promoted values are an integral part of the organization.
  3. Determine what both the organization and you do best and do better: Continue to weed out the weak in favor of the more effective.
  4. Make staff lean and mean:  Ensure that every position has a purpose and is being held accountable.
  5. Remove boundaries:  Remove boundaries which get in the way of doing business both in-house and out.  Remember that barriers create waste.
  6. Assemble winners: Winners go beyond defined roles and increase the value of the company.
  7. Get everyone involved: Be sure employees know that everyone's ideas count.
  8. Provide a growing environment:  Employees are motivated to learn that the organization is committed to the growth of individuals as well as the organization.
  9. Put emphasis on quality:  Be sure quality is given an uncompromising position in the mind of employees.
  10. Focus on service:  Future growth depends on letting customers know that they're very important.  Workers will be committed to their customers in direct relationship to how leaders treat their workers as their customers.
