Brainworks acquires Morcor Solutions

Brainworks Software, a leading provider of innovative advertising, CRM and circulation software to the media industry, has announced the acquisition of Morcor Solutions, Inc. of Napanee, Ontario, Canada. Morcor is a leading provider of innovative ad tracking and management technology.

Brainworks and Morcor have had a long-standing relationship and frequently worked together in co-development projects as well as joint sales and marketing efforts. Now as one company, the resources and talents in both companies will be directed to bring new and innovative products and services to an industry undergoing change at an unrelenting pace.

The newly combined company will be led by John Barry, president of Brainworks. Kenn Morrison, who served as president of Morcor, will remain heavily involved. All existing Morcor development and support employees and Canadian offices are being retained. Brainworks will continue to maintain offices in Sayville, N.Y., Wichita, Kan., and Belleville, Ontario. The combined company will be comprised of more than 50 employees and more than a dozen senior developers. "The scale and strength of our combined development team has turbocharged the pace of Xpance development. Major new product features are being rapidly released and our customer base is thrilled," states John Barry.

Together the combined company has more than 53 years of experience providing innovative solutions to hundreds of newspapers throughout North America. Brainworks believes the industry has a bright future and that the time is right to aggressively pursue this acquisition.
