Albertson chosen as Times executive editor
Keith Albertson, managing editor of The Times in Gainesville, Ga., since 2004, has been promoted to the position of executive editor of the news organization.
"We are very pleased to announce that Keith is the new chief editor for our various products and publications. He brings to the position a great deal of institutional knowledge about the area as well as a solid understanding of the role the news media should play in a community," said Norman Baggs, general manager of The Times.
In his new role, Albertson will be responsible for planning and overseeing the news gathering process for The Times, www.gainesvilletimes.com, social media and other print products.
"Keith is very well respected as a true professional both inside and outside our building. We are very fortunate to have someone of his caliber leading our news effort," said Baggs. "We are embarking on a lot of exciting new initiatives at The Times, and Keith is the perfect person to make them successful."
