HD Media announces leadership team 10/1/18

With its acquisition of Charleston Newspapers Inc. and subsequent merger now complete, HD Media Co. LLC has announced its leadership team for the combined operations.

That team, or Operating Committee, will be responsible for overseeing operations of The Herald-Dispatch (Huntington, W.W.), owned by HD Media; the Charleston (W.Va.) Gazette-Mail, which was owned by Charleston Newspapers Inc.; and several other publications.

The other publications include daily newspapers The Logan Banner and Williamson Daily News and the weekly newspapers Wayne County News, the Coal Valley News in Madison, the Independent Herald in Pineville, the Lawrence Herald and Putnam Herald. HD Media also publishes the bimonthly River Cities Magazine.

The San Marcos Daily Record announces a change in leadership 5/1/18

Lance Winter, who most recently worked for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, has joined the San Marcos (Texas) Daily Record as publisher. He succeeds Don Moore, who will remain in an advisory capacity with Moser Community Media. Inc., the management company serving the San Marcos Daily Record, until the time of his future retirement.

HD Media closes purchase of Charleston Gazette-Mail, names new publisher 4/10/18

HD Media and Charleston Newspapers have closed on the sale of the Charleston Gazette-Mail, and a new publisher and executive editor have been named. For the first time in more than a century, the West Virginia newspaper is being published without a member of the Chilton family at the helm.
