As enterprise editor for LNP Media Group in Lancaster, Penn., Lison Joseph says 80 percent of his job is focused on print. When he applied for SNPA's NEX GEN mentoring program, he wanted to learn more about digital journalism from someone with hands-on experience.
Joseph was matched with Christy Oglesby, then managing editor/audience growth for Cox Media Group in Atlanta. With CNN also on her resume, Oglesby had expertise in using video to drive traffic to a website.

Shannon Casas grew up south of Gainesville, Ga., went to Berry College in Rome and was happy to stay close to home by joining The Times in Gainesville after graduation. Promoted in February to managing editor at the age of 32, Casas used her time in SNPA's NEX GEN mentoring program to expand her horizons.
Casas was paired with Barbara Hough Roda, executive editor of LNP and LancasterOnline, part of LNP Media Group Inc. in Lancaster, Pa.

Over the summer, the folks at The Palm Beach Post in Florida realized they had "a very large stock" of aging spadea paper that had to be used fairly quickly. Spadea paper, used for premium advertising that folds or wraps around the front section of the newspaper, eventually ages to the point that it's no good. The unused stock of paper became one half of a special package that also featured premium positioning on the paper's website.More
