Cox Enterprises has announced that Sonya Wendell Manfredi has joined the company as vice president of government affairs. In this role, she will serve as a representative to Capitol Hill for Cox and its companies, including Cox Communications, Cox Automotive and Cox Media Group.

Michael McCleery, general manager and advertising director of the Commonwealth Journal in Somerset, Ky., has been appointed publisher of the newspaper, effective immediately.

In his new role, McCleery will continue to serve as advertising director for the newspaper, but will take on added responsibility for the overall operation.

Robin L. Quillon has been named president of Adams Publishing Group of Eastern North Carolina, effective April 1. As of the same date, Quillon will also become publisher of The Daily Reflector in Greenville, N.C.

Brainworks Software has announced that Mary Parker will lead the sales effort of the Stratica strategically focused CRM and advertising system announced today at the Mega-Conference in Las Vegas. Effective immediately, Parker will assume the role of director of strategic sales. In that role, she will direct the company's efforts to market and sell the new system to the media industry.

Katherine Miller, general manager and advertising director of The News-Courier in Athens, Ala., has been appointed publisher of the newspaper.
