Today is Deadline to Reserve Hotel Rooms at $99 Rate
It's not too late to register for the Circulation Managers Conference, sponsored by SNPA and the Florida Press Association. But, hotel rooms need to be reserved right away. Today (Sept. 10) is the deadline to take advantage of the $99 hotel room rate.
The conference, which provides circulation managers an opportunity to share their best practices and discuss their best ideas, will be held Sept. 30 - Oct. 1 in Orlando, Fla.
The Thursday sessions run from 1-5 p.m. The focus will be on operations issues and opportunities. Topics include:
- Delivery area structure – bigger, smaller, deadline changes.
- Service re-delivery – outsourced contractors, e-editions, credit-savings, fall-out.
- Circulation structure changes.
- Circulation staffing – money savings, process improvements.
- Outsourcing of various circulation functions.
- Inserting vs. topping.
- Contractor fee structures, changes.
- Carrier churn, retention, prospecting.
The program on Friday, Oct. 1, runs from 8 a.m. to noon. Sales and retention issues are on the agenda:
- New ABC rules – using them to generate revenue or units.
- Coupon clubs – using couponing to grow circulation units.
- Loyalty/membership retention programs – costs, successes.
- Electronic editions – generating revenue, NIE, re-delivery option.
- Pricing models – variable pricing, maximizing revenue.
- Single copy pricing and promotion.
- Scan-based trade reconciliation.
- TV book options – pricing.
- New sales initiatives, channels.
- New revenue streams in circulation.
The conference will be held at the Westin Imagine, a four-star hotel near the convention center in Orlando. The room rate is just $99 per night, if reservations are made by Sept. 10.
