JOBS AVAILABLE - NEWS/EDITORIAL

Associate Editor

Lake City Reporter is seeking an experienced Associate Editor to take the No. 2 role in our busy, nationally award-winning newsroom.

The position involves the opportunity to report, as well as to assist and direct the copy desk as needed. This isn't a job for a new grad. We require at least two years experience reporting and designing — in other words, it's an excellent opportunity for an editor to step up from a weekly or an enlightened reporter to make a move from a daily writing beat. Early- or mid-level management experience in a newsroom is a plus.

The Lake City Reporter is a six-day daily in a city known as the Gateway to Florida. We just picked up a handful of national writing and photography awards, and we need someone to help us continue the trend.

If you can get the story no one else can get — and direct a young staff of reporters to do the same — design pages readers can't resist and relish the role of being the last line of defense on the copy desk, this is the position for you.

The Lake City Reporter serves Columbia and surrounding counties in North Florida through its daily paper, bimonthly magazine and growing website. Positioned at a major intersection into Florida, our community is better off than much of the nation and is experiencing solid growth.

Newspaper platform is Mac-based and pages are built in InDesign.
